As we move into the 2016 election cycle, the Robertson County Republican Party has an exciting and busy schedule planned. It includes three fund-raisers, “meet & greet” events for our candidates, “town hall” speakers on topics of interest to our county community, booths at our local festivals, and much more.
Our first activity is a Chili Supper, scheduled for the 8th of October, at 6:30 p.m., at the Pridgeon Center, 351 Cooks Lane, Franklin. The food is prepared by our Sheriff, aided by other Robertson County residents and created from locally sourced ingredients. At this event, we will have “keynote” speaker, Dr. Dave McIntyre, a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at both the Homeland Security Studies and Analysis Institute and the Bipartisan WMD Terrorism Research Center in Washington, D.C.. In addition, this event will feature auctions, both live and silent, with items of personal, historic, and artistic value. Advance sales of the tickets for our Lincoln/Reagan Celebration will begin at the Chili Supper. Although the event is not until February 25th, we are already looking forward to having Kris “Tanto” Paronto, a former Army Ranger and one of the CIA men who fought and survived Benghazi, as our special guest. Kris will also hold a book-signing for “13 Hours of Benghazi” of which he is a co-author. One of our Precinct Chairmen, a former member of the 2nd Field Force, says, “Lead the Way, 2nd of the 75th” and brings best wishes from Col. Allen West.

Jo’ Miller, Chairman, RCRP
As one of the pages on our web site asks, “What is it to be a Republican?”
This Summer, we have two dinner meetings at which Republicans whom we have elected to represent us will come to us and help answer that question. Each event includes statements from the speakers and liberal time for Q&A with the audience.
As your chairman, I feel that, while all of our Summer speakers are great sources of conservative thought and current news, the Convention Delegate Forum and the State Republican Officials Forum bring us a detailed view of the inner workings of the party and government that would be hard to find elsewhere and that is tailored to our local interests and needs.
I cannot urge you more strongly to make these two presentations the top priority on your list of events this summer. If you are truly a Republican, these are “must do” items for your understanding of what we are facing this Fall and in the next four years.
